Course Overview
In today’s workplace, up to five generations can be working side by side, from Baby Boomers to Gen Z, and soon Gen Alpha. Each generation brings different values, work styles, communication preferences, and expectations. This course equips participants to turn generational differences from a source of friction into a powerful asset. Through interactive learning, leaders and teams will learn how to communicate effectively, build cross-generational trust, and foster collaboration in a multi-generational environment.

- Overview of generational cohorts: Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z, and emerging Gen Alpha
- Key trends and drivers: digital fluency, AI, hybrid work, and purpose driven careers
- How generational differences manifest in the modern workplace
- The business case for generational diversity
- Exercise: Map out the generational makeup of your own team or organization and identify potential pain points and strengths.
Module 2: Myths, Biases & Generational Stereotypes
- Common generational stereotypes and why they persist
- The impact of generational bias on performance, engagement & work culture
- Debunking myths and using evidence based generational insight
- Building respect through understanding and empathy
- Group Activity: In small groups, reflect on real life team tensions that may stem from generational assumptions, and propose reframing strategies.
Module 3: Communication Across Generations
- Differences in communication style: digital vs inperson, formal vs informal
- Tailoring feedback, recognition, and messaging across generations
- Hybrid and remote work implications: how different generations experience hybrid work
- Listening, coaching, and feedback techniques that resonate across age groups
- Case Study: Role play a feedback or coaching scenario where a manager must adapt their approach to an employee from a different generation.
Module 4: Motivation, Engagement & Retention
- What motivates different generations: purpose, flexibility, stability, recognition
- Designing inclusive engagement strategies and development paths
- Creating intergenerational mentorship, reverse mentoring, and peer learning programs

- Capstone: Each participant creates a generational inclusion action plan, with concrete steps to leverage generational diversity for better performance, culture, and innovation.
Course Administration Details:
METHODOLOGY
The instructor-led trainings are delivered using a blended learning approach and comprise presentations, guided sessions of practical exercise, web-based tutorials, and group work. Our facilitators are seasoned industry experts with years of experience, working as professionals and trainers in these fields. All facilitation and course materials will be offered in English. The participants should be reasonably proficient in English.
ACCREDITATION
Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be issued a Skillstate Institute certificate.
TRAINING VENUE
The training will be held at a Skillstate Institute Training Centre. The course fee covers the course tuition, training materials, two break refreshments, and lunch. All participants will additionally cater to their travel expenses, visa application, insurance, and other personal expenses.
