- What is protocol? Its history and modern relevance
- Protocol hierarchies, precedence, and institutional vs social protocol
- Etiquette essentials: introductions, respect, and professional courtesy
- The changing face of protocol in government, corporate, and diplomatic settings
- Exercise: Map scenarios where protocol matters most (diplomatic, business, formal) and discuss how to navigate them.
Module 2: Corporate & Professional Etiquette
- Business communication styles: emails, meetings, introductions
- Personal presentation: dress codes, grooming, body language
- Cross generational and gender sensitive etiquette in modern workplaces
- Networking, business dining, and cultural nuances
- Case Study: Simulate a high profile board meeting with multi generational and cross cultural participants; role play introductions and communication.
Module 3: Diplomatic & Government Protocol
- State ceremonies, flag protocol, and national symbols
- Order of precedence, titles, and credentials
- Diplomatic titles and forms of address (e.g., “Excellency”)

- Seating arrangements: banquets, stages, boardrooms
- Managing VIP security, logistics, and protocol expectations
- Crisis planning for guest issues or security emergencies
- Case Study: Create a guest list, seating layout, and invitation plan for a high level dinner or summit.
Module 7: Communication & Media Protocol
- Public speaking: crafting speeches, timing, and message delivery
- Master of ceremonies (MC) roles, scripting, and event flow
- Media engagement: press conferences, photo ops, and media staging
- Contingency communication: how to handle unexpected remarks or PR issues
- Activity: Simulate a press briefing at an event: prepare talking points, set up the stage, and role-play.
Module 8: Virtual & Hybrid Event Etiquette

Module 10: Capstone Simulation & Protocol Drill
- Participants design and run a full protocol compliant event simulation

- Peer and facilitator feedback on execution, etiquette, and event flow

- Capstone Project: Present a fully planned event (protocol, logistics, seating, communication) and run a protocol “drill” with role-play guests and VIPs.

METHODOLOGY
The instructor-led trainings are delivered using a blended learning approach and comprise presentations, guided sessions of practical exercise, web-based tutorials, and group work. Our facilitators are seasoned industry experts with years of experience, working as professionals and trainers in these fields. All facilitation and course materials will be offered in English. The participants should be reasonably proficient in English.
ACCREDITATION
Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be issued a Skillstate Institute certificate.
TRAINING VENUE
The training will be held at a Skillstate Institute Training Centre. The course fee covers the course tuition, training materials, two break refreshments, and lunch. All participants will additionally cater to their travel expenses, visa application, insurance, and other personal expenses.
